Brad Moore named Managing Director of Global Rent-a-scope; a New Mexico based globalized astronomical telescope network

Fountain Valley, California (June 11, 2007). Effective June 18, Brad Moore of Officer, Victoria, which is near Melbourne, Australia, has been appointed the managing director of Global Rent-a-scope (GRAS) a New Mexico based globalized telescope network system.

contactus-bradmooreCurrently GRAS consists of close to 13 strategically located remote telescope systems in three different time zones. The time zones have sufficient separation to ensure that some of the robotic instruments will always be in the dark part of the earth’s shadow. The Global Rent-a-scope's telescope network provides CCD imaging to professional and public astronomers, 24 hours a day seven days a week (weather permitting).

Moore, prior to this new appointment, was the owner and operator of GRAS-008, a 12 1/2 inch RCOS Ritchey Chrétien open truss telescope system. Mr. Moore brings to this new assignment, a great deal of business experience and computer technical expertise. Moore is also an avid astro imager with many years of experience in capturing deep space objects. He is also well versed in the technical, electronic and the optical aspects of managing robotic astronomical observatories.

Mr. Moore has already implemented several improvements since first joining the organization several months ago. Current subscribers are enjoying the tremendous flexibility afforded by Mr. Moore's new accounting system. This accounting system was implemented a few months ago.

Also, Mr. Moore's been responsible for updating the operating systems on most of the remote telescope systems currently in service. At the moment he is preparing to engage in installing GRAS-012 and moving GRAS-008 to a new darker location. These two systems should be on line at their new location within the next month or so.

Mr. Moore also brings to this assignment a vast amount of experience in marketing, accounting, information systems management, sales, customer service, and strategic planning. Mr. Moore is in the process of planning several new installations that should be well received by the many subscribers of the GRAS system.
